We just changed the light bulbs in one of the electric fireplaces in our showroom made by _________.  What a hassle! It took 2 men nearly 2 hours to take it  completely apart to access the bulbs.  It uses 7 of those little G8 halogen light bulbs that cost $5 each, so that's $35 to replace all the bulbs.

We can't in good faith continue to sell this product, although we've decided to leave it on display so we can explain to customers why the cheaper product can end up costing more in the long run.

We've got more than 40 electric fireplaces in our showroom and replace bulbs on one or more of them weekly EXCEPT for our Stirling fireplace displays.

Thanks for making a beautiful and maintenance free product that we're proud to offer to our customers!

Are electric fireplaces safe?
An electric fireplace is the safest possible appliance you can use. Our Stirling Fires flame effect is created with ribbons and LED light technology to create the illusion of a realistic fire appearance, but is never too hot to touch. LED lights produce no heat (the way common halogen bulbs do) so you'll feel no heat at all when using the fireplace without the heater.

Do I have to vent a Stirling fireplace?
No. Unlike wood, gas, coal, or oil, electric heat is 100% efficient and produces absolutely no odors or pollutants. Your Stirling electric fireplace can be used without concern around babies, pets and those with health problems. These groups will benefit from the extra heat in the room without danger of breathing pollutants or burning themselves.

Can I use this fireplace without the heater? Absolutely! The flame effect is operated on a separate circuit from the heater. If you don't need the heat then simply keep the heater turned off; enjoy the ambience of a fire any time of year without concern that you'll get too warm.

How much area can an electric fireplace heat?
This varies widely based on your climate, current weather conditions, your home's floor plan, etc. The heater is rated at 5000 btu's (the maximum allowed for a plug-in appliance). Generally this is sufficient to provide the sole source of heat for a room approximately 400 square feet.

Is a Stirling electric fireplace green?
If you're concerned, as most people are these days, with the impact your choice of appliances makes on the environment then a Stirling fireplace is the perfect choice! Stirling fireplaces use LED lighting which use 90% less electricity than halogen bulbs. Further, LED lights are designed to burn about 10 years so that's a lot less burnt out light bulbs ending up in landfills.

Electric fireplaces operate at 100% efficiency, and there are absolutely no emissions or pollutants produced by using your Stirling electric fireplace. In choosing a fireplace for your home a Stirling electric fireplace is a wise, safe and environmentally responsible choice.

Why does the Stirling fireplace cost slightly more than some of our competitors?
First, compare the features, appearance and quality construction of our fireplaces versus the discount brands. We use high quality components such as LED lighting and Swedish heating components. All of our fireplaces are built by hand in our factory, we can't compete with overseas products made with cheaper components and foreign labor. You'll find our products offer a great list of features, are easy to install and maintenance free. A Stirling fireplace will provide you years and years of hassle-free enjoyment.
